Blog Life&Style Ramblings Thoughts Feelings Reflections

Last year, I wrote a post entitled 20 Things in 20 Years. It can be summarized as half-way decent general life advice that resonated with me at the time. I really like that post. But let’s be real, a lot has happened since then.

The past year, has been a year. My mom keeps telling me that I have learned so much about myself. I wouldn’t say I feel it.

I will say that I learned a few very important things.

Just keep putting one put in front of the other, and making new decisions as new information is added. There was so much this year that just felt so out of anyone and everyone’s control. It was so easy to feel overwhelmed and like the world was spiraling. And as someone already prone to anxiety, it was a lot. The best thing I found to do was to just keep focusing on what is right in front of me. I can’t control the world but I can control me.

In conjunction with that, figure out your boundaries and stick with them. And be loud about them. If you aren’t okay with something speak up about it, do not shut about it. Your standards are not too high, you are not asking to much, if you are in the right situation with the right people.

There’s a lot that happened in the past year that still hurts to think about. That still make me mad, sad, pissed off and angry. But then I take a step back and realize how much I grew as a person. How I kinda really came into my own, and if I do say so myself, I kinda blossomed this year.

Yeah, this year literally drove me to drink. From both stress and celebration. Cheers to 21!
