This year I am thankful,
A week-long break from school, time to relax, recharge, and recenter before finals.
All the opportunities that have come my way this year, whether they panned out or not.
Music, both that I am making and that has gotten me through this year.
People. Friends, family, everyone that has got me through this far.
Time and the fact that I keep finding more of it each morning.
Creative outlets, to keep me a little more sane through all these various stay at home orders.
Everything that I did not get and everything that did not work out the way I wanted it to.
The fact that I live in a time where even a pandemic can not stop human connection across the globe.
The fear that has lodged itself in my throat, brought tears to my eyes, and told me to do it anyway.
The roof over my head, the food in my belly and the love all around me.
Coffee, and wine.
The written word in all of its beauty and wonder.
Democracy and all the responsibilities and stresses it brings with it.
The health of my friends and family.
Naps, sleep, rest.
The ability to worry, the ability to chose not to worry.
The fact that creativity and inspiration can never be quarantined.
The two vaccines that are currently showing to 90% or better in preventing the virus in the general population.
The unexpected time I got to spend with family this year.
All the frontline workers who sacrificed so much this year.
The fact that this semester is almost over.
The fact that this year is almost over.
What are you thankful for this year?
