Vote!: Thoughts, Feelings, and Reflections Heading into the Election

I am writing this Monday November 2nd 2020. It will not be posted until Friday November 6 2020. A lot is going to happen between now and then. In my life and the course of the country.

This was my first time voting in a presidential election. Not my first time voting though, I already have above average voter participation. I have never voted in-person, always absentee.

Maybe by the next time I vote, I will be able to do so in person and truly get the full experience. It feels werid to know I have voted three tines, l have above average voter participation, and I have never set foot in a polling place.

Honestly just vote. The statistics on voter turnout in the U.S. are abysmal and just plain out sad. Just vote, there’s like five different ways to do it so there’s really no excuse not to.

Just vote.

At this point I almost don’t know what I want to happen. I had a teacher one year tell us that only morally good presidents only served one term, so I have been preparing to be disappointed since 2016.

And to be honest that’s just kind of my general mood about a lot of things lately. I have hopes of what I want to have happen but I am not getting too excited about anything because I just don’t feel like anything is going to work out.

By the time you are reading this so much will have happened and changed. I just hope we can all look back on it positively one day.

Spread the love
