What I Wish I Could Tell the April 2018 Version of Me…

It’s about as official as it can be, next fall I will start my senior year of undergrad. I keep saying undergrad as if I have plans to get a MBA, and I don’t no have plans but that do not begin in the fall of 2022. I have also accepted to a be an orientation leader for the incoming class freshman class next fall.

All of which has made me reflect upon what I was like, what the world was like the last time I was a senior. How I felt transitioning from high school to college. What I had wish I had known. What I think would have done differently looking back.

So here’s a list of random lines of advice I wish I could go back and give my senior in high school self;

If it feels wrong and or off, it just trust that it is and act accordingly.

Everything is going to change whether you like or not, so just embrace it as much as you can.

Naps, food, caffeine and water are all your friends.

The faster you figure out the outfits that make you look and feel put together but are actually really basic and comfy, the fast the second half of your life will begin.

Don’t be afraid to reach out first, but also know when to not.

Makeup is fun, but sleep is even more fun.

No one probably cared and or noticed about that embarrassing thing, so stop freaking out about it.

Eating nothing but sugar and caffeine is really not as much fun as it sounds.

Set up automatic transfers, but be realistic about what you can stock away. You shouldn’t be stressing out over buying things because how it is going to mess up your savings.

Speak up.

Remember that no one else in the entire world can walk the earth and live a life the same that you will. So, trust in your journey and your path because it is uniquely yours.

Spread the love
